Since 2009, residents throughout the Venice, Santa Monica and Malibu community have looked forward to the wonderful, big square cookies from The Goddess, available at various coffee shops and markets. Now, we're making them available directly to you, via our website!
Because Ingredients Matter
If there's one thing Grossmama Elfie taught me it was that baking is love! Our ingredients are grown with love too. We start with sustainable almonds farmed for the flours we use. Our eggs come from pasture raised programs like the one down the road at Rosemary Farms where the chickens roam free. Even our macadamia nut grower in Kona who is in her 80s has farmed mac nuts all her life that ensure the powerful goodness in our cookies.
It's attention to detail like our proprietary cacao sustainable farmed in Hawaii, that brings the intense chocolate flavor without sugar.
Because Community Matters
There is harmony when all elements work in concert. In Hawaii they call it 'Pono' (balance) . Therefore, our highest priority is not only to harmonize with nature by creating sustainable, healthy foods, supporting local farmers and helping our community, but GFG Bakery dedicates great effort to this by partnering with organizations like Batter for Battered, Women, A Call 2 Peace Foundation, Food Cycle LA, Creative Visions who seek to protect and empower those in need and to shine light in dark places through resource sharing and music.
Me Ke Aloha from Humble, Diverse Beginnings
Gluten free Goddess Bakery started life in the back of a tiny kitchen in 2009 in Venice Beach California. Our first cookies were sold at the Venice Farmers Market, local coffee shops, juice bars, and co-ops.
Each recipe is a blend of cultures. Our founder's tiny Austrian Grandmother Elfie is at the heart of the gluten free flavor. Her nut torte recipes blended with traditional French pastry techniques. Our signature 'loft and chew' comes from my French Nana June’s cookie recipes.
Our founder loves surfing and the conservation that defines a love of the ocean. She has always had a deep and abiding love of Hawaii and her people. WE here at the GFGBakery seek to live Aloha through California Surf Culture and COOKIES!!
